The Big Picture While we have great passion and vision and believe that "all things are possible," we are also realistic and pragmatic. We are one of many organizations founded in the wake of tragedy and committed to making a difference. Many sites direct us to kindness and an opening of our hearts. We are another voice, but by joining with others, our voice is amplified. Why reinvent the wheel? Our underlying strategy is to use our resources in combination with the assets of like-minded groups to realize our mutual goals. This strategy has two parts: Focus Locally, Collaborate Nationally |
Focus Locally
More can be done from the inside out than from the outside in. Local initiatives tend to address local needs more efficiently and effectively, utilizing resources and allowing individuals to contribute time and talents. A group can better mobilize ongoing support for a program designed and implemented by community friends and neighbors. Many minds across the nation considering similar problems will generate many more ideas and strategies. From the wisdom and humility of others we understand it is not necessary to do great things, but simply to do many small things lovingly. The Foundation's initiatives and programs will continue to reflect this understanding as we do "many small things" locally and work to enable others to do the same nationally.
Collaborate Nationally
Independent non-profits need an informational clearinghouse: a forum to contribute ideas, to discuss what works and why, a place to collaborate, to share research and materials. The "I Love U Guys" Foundation is designing an interactive site to facilitate collaboration between smaller, like-minded non-profit organizations. With our technology and human assets, we hope to create a cooperative model to expand communication between like-minded groups. The successes we each celebrate locally can then easily be exported, customized and implemented across the country. Please share your favorite websites with us; we need your suggestions to expand our clearinghouse and launch this collaboration! Email |
